How can one make a buffer solution using a strong base Sodium Hydroxide and a weak
Acetic acid? How can one prove that a buffer solution has being made?
Hypothesis:
By performing the process of dilution of solutions into1M
concentrations and titrating small amounts of Sodium Hydroxide into acetic acid,
one can find that a buffer solution can be made after a certain volume of Sodium
Hydroxide is titrated.
Then by the use of universal indicator or a pH meter,
one can find that the pH will stay relatively the same at the beginning due to a buffer solution. But after a certain volume of Sodium Hydroxide has being added,
the pH will suddenly become more than pH 7 and therefore indicating the end of the buffer solution.
